Innovative sustainable propagation system: RCS 2.0
Selecta is launching a ground-breaking innovation at IPM 2025 - RCS 2.0. This is a propagation system in which cuttings are rooted offshore in special paper bags using little energy – and without any substrate. The paper is biodegradable, consists of cellulose fibres and is free from fossil-based plastics. Due to their size, the cuttings are very suitable for transport, take up less space and produce less waste than normal rooted cuttings.
The cuttings are packaged in paper strips and are ready for immediate use at the customer's premises. You can either pot pre-cut individual bags manually on conveyor belts, tables or with potting machines. Or you can use automatic transplanting with the TTA Cutting Edge, a cutting machine for planting cuttings. Selecta one has further developed the TTA Cutting Edge together with the Dutch automation specialist TTA. The delivered paper strips are cut cleanly, the cuttings are precisely gripped and automatically potted in the pockets.
